What Are Blogs For?

Great stuff... you have joined a Blog. The 'soul' purpose of which is to promote my affiliate programs... Errr. Not true actually.

Sorry about the spelling. My little joke. And only to promote "MY" affiliate programs? Is this a bit arrogant? Self centred and selfish? What about ME I hear you say.

Of course. Nothing succeeds in life online unless one gives away, gives away and gives away. At some point, there is a monetisation imperative but that may come at the back end somewhere. Possibly months later. "The back-end means that something that someone falls into having been exposed at the "Front-end" to a subject that interests them. Making money. Fishing. Bear wrestling, Potty training. Weddings, Christenings and Funerals... The list is endless.

My other Blog, Best Affiliate ATM, is the result of my research into what works as an affiliate. Blog posts or articles, reflect this. None more poignantly than my first blog post from Chris Pearson, a programmer who designed the "Skin" or "Template" for my blog that I substituted over the standard issue WordPress layout:

Here, you may discern the heartfelt experience of someone who has the skills to paddle their own canoe; those who are determined to make money online and Chris has decided to use his skills to make his own product. His layout appealed to me because it is Mac-like, clear and simple and I have a love for clean design.

Yet compare it to Robert Plank's Blog, which is a bit messy:

Robert is a 21-22 year old programmer who knows his PHP and commercial onions and has developed a lifestyle for himself that people of his age rarely attain using amongst other resources, his messy blog... There are other examples that I shall refer to as this series of emails develops.

So. What are YOUR conclusions as to what works? Mine have been distilled down to this:

Build a list and the best list builder is MVS. MyViralSpiral:

Others abound including Mammoth:

And Reality Networkers:

With a list of people to talk to, you can make sales. Sales mean a better standard of living. It is that simple.

More next time.

Warmly,

Malcolm

In summary, start to build your list even if you do not know what you are going to do with your list once you have got it...
